Organisation Members

We have some fabulous local organsiations supporting our work. Here's what we think of them, but please meet them, get involved and decide for yourself...

spaSussex Peace Alliance (SPA) is a broad alliance of groups in Sussex concerned with peace and disarmament.

SPA's general aim is to alert, inform and activate Sussex peace groups. They operate with the understanding that the development of nuclear and high tech weapons rules out war as a means of settling international disputes.

Security is not fear based - rather the security of each nation embraces all nations and is all-embracing. It is not achieved by war or the possession of arms but is the result of shared security, a just economic order, and a healthy global environment.

SPA is the regional contact for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.

Life² believe that we are very lucky to be living as westerners in the modern world. But with more material wealth than ever before, better education, better healthcare and opportunities - things are still not quite right. It seems that increased material wealth does not make us happier, and many people are searching for meaning in life.

The world is more complex and we face a wide range of influences and pressures on our identities - from consumerism to the need to be thin. We also encounter ethical choices about how to live in a world with environmental and social problems.

Life² aims to help people live happy, wise, well-informed and meaningful lives. They cover a wide range of topics including sustainability, simple living, mental health, well-being, finding meaning, critical thinking, democratic participation and ethical living.

They help through publications, courses, ideas and projects, and their work has been praised by figures as diverse as Jonathon Porritt and Stephen Fry. The Life² website is pretty comprehensive and looks good too.
