News from the chair

Hello again!

I’m delighted to report that the push towards developing the organisation is going well on all fronts, helped by the new Centre Coordinator, Mareike, whom I thank. We’ve had some productive strategy days; check out the website for details.

Our pro-bono (free) solicitors have suggested we become a charity/company. This will hopefully be ratified at the next AGM on 6th December. The evening will feature a workshop on Sustainable living at 6.30pm, the AGM at 7.30pm and our Xmas party from 9pm - so please bring along food and drink to share! Please put the date in your diaries and we’ll be in touch with details of the location nearer the time.

BPEC’s work in the community has continued apace, with successes including: a Fairtrade day at a local school, work on a new updated Green Pages, community consultation on climate change (for the council), our 3rd Age seminars and a Global Citizenship Advocate Course (part of the DFID project). We also sold tickets to the Big Green Gathering for the first time - please get your friends to buy then from us next year, as well as Glastonbury (+ coach) tickets.

Funding is needed for our vital work to carry on and grow - and YOU can help (please and thank you!) by:

1. Getting (at least) 2 friends to become members of BPEC
2. Putting BPEC in your will; legacies are a huge help for charities
3. Asking your company to support BPEC (we can help you do this, with our company membership)
4. Buying your Xmas cards from us and some small presents are also available (books and CDs - or get someone BPEC Membership for a year!)

Many thanks for your continued support
(particularly the ‘brave’ volunteers) and I
look forward to meeting you at the AGM,
and other events.
