"Go Green" Eco After School Club

Go Green! was an after school project for young people aged 9 –11 living in East Brighton. It covered a wide range of environmental subjects related to climate change and encouraged young people to be environmentally responsible through practical activities and interactive workshops. Sessions lasted 60 min and consisted of an introduction to the subject, an engaging activity, a plenary for reflection and feedback and a short introduction to the subject of the following week. Between the sessions the children became “Green Detectives” receiving tasks to research. At the end of the project the children picked one of the topics and independently prepared and delivered a 20min presentation for the school assembly. The project ran in 3 after school settings in East Brighton once a week, for 6 weeks,in spring and summer term 2007.
