Communities

summer-poppiesOur Community Learning Programme enables you, and a whole host of other people, to get involved with workshops and courses which we run in partnership with other Brighton & Hove organisations such as The Friends Centre, Oxfam and BHCC Sustainability Team

The current focus of our work is to inspire and encourage people to ask questions about the big issues such as: climate change, water rights, world debt, poverty and fair trade as well as other topics that we all face across the globe.

We engage with people locally, highlighting the connections between their own lives with those of others throughout the world. In so doing we add to our collective learning - there are many ways to live and respond to life's challenges.

Currently, our Community Learning Programme includes:

Climate Connections:

climateconnectionsThis programme highlights how people throughout the world, and people in Brighton & Hove, respond to climate change.

We join the dots and connect the stories from individuals and community groups who have been forced to respond and adapt to extreme weather conditions: changing their lives.

The Green Film Course:

endofthelinedvdThis course showcases some of the most recent diverse and often controversial feature films and documentaires. These well research films such as: The End of the Line, The Power of the Community and Who Killed the Electric Car, highlight key topical issues.

The course runs on selected Mondays from March to July. A Q&A session follows each film.
